 Junior Built Environment Accessibility Auditors

AccessAbility Advantage (A+) is a joint venture between the March of Dimes Canada and Quadrangle Architects Limited, based in Toronto, Ontario.  We are currently seeking junior Built Environment Accessibility Auditors to take part in accessibility compliance reviews of facilities and exterior spaces in the City of Toronto with the potential to expand to Southern Ontario.

Requirements for the role include:

  • An active interest in accessibility compliance requirements and accessibility advocacy;
  • Commitment to collecting and presenting information which is accurate, clear and useful to the team and to the client;
  • Interest in working with custom databases, spreadsheets, checklists and Excel;
  • Expertise with Excel;
  • Willingness to conduct on-site assessment, as well as provide accurate data entry, concise writing and meaningful recommendations for the report;
  • Familiarity with the tools of the job: tape measure, level, cameras etc.;
  • Weekday, daytime, some evenings and weekends availability during the course of contracts with some weeks requiring more time commitment than others;
  • Ability to commit to a schedule until 31 March 2017;
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to engage with clients on site;
  • Ability to work constructively within a team to meet time-sensitive milestones;
  • Interest in learning about the AODA, Ontario Building Code and other accessibility guidelines.

The role is very active and hands-on, requiring full days of walking, including stairs and exterior paths.  Auditors will work in teams and report to a Project Manager. Tools are provided.

This is an hourly contract position with options for extension. Work is assigned on a project-by-project basis.
